          Thiru A.Duraisami is the son of Vyanna Arumuga Mudaliyar, Master Weaver and cloth merchant at Koonavelampatti Pudur, Rasipuram Taluk, Salem Dist, Now Namakkal District

          Completed his Elementary Education at Koonavelampatti Pudur, Secondary education at Rasipuram Board High School, Salem

District (which covered the present 4 districts Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri)… every Taluk the district Board administration was in running a High School in the head quarters …and in some taluks ….more than one.

          During his schooling he was in the Boy Scout. Thiru Duraisami actively took part in games such as ball badminton and ring ball. He was the Sub-Junior captain of the Football and Hockey teams of his school.

          Completed his S.S.L.C in the year 1948, then joined intermediate – 1st university class in 1948, June and 2nd university class 1949-50, Then he got graduated in B.A. History and Economics during the year 1950-52, Then he served as untrained Graduate teacher in Sengunthar High School, Gurusamipalayam and then Board High School, Attur. for about one year.

          Then he studied in Madras Law college and graduated in 1957 and because an apprentice in law under the senior advocate Sri.A.Sankara Mudaliar and after enrolment as Advocate on 18.08.1958 served as his junior advocate for 15 years upto 1972.

         From 1972 to 1978 he was the Additional Public Prosecutor, Salem for the Additional Sessions Courts and was appointed as Special persecutor by the then Governor of Tamil Nadu Hon’ble Mr.P.C.Alexander as the prosecutor for the Boiler case. which became sensational.

          He was appointed as the District Public Prosecutor from 1983, for 3years and it was extended upto 1989-90. As an advocate he had completed 61 years of service in August 2019.

          In 1948 met the Praja Socialist Supremo Shri.Jayaprakash Narayan at Mettur labourers union and had the opportunity to translate his expressions to the labourers assembled in Mettur Chemicals Labour Union and on the next day at the meeting in the central talkies in Salem also. Then Shri.Ashok Mehta, former Finance Minister and Shri.Chandrasekar Former Prime Minister were introduced and became friends in the diamond jubilee of the South Indian Sengunthar Sangam was conducted in Salem with the Golden Jubilee of Salem District Sengunthar Mahajana Sangam, in December 1981.

          Under the leadership of Sri.A.Sankara mudaliar, Sri.P.Ramasami mudaliar, Sri.K.R.Manicka Mudaliyar, Sri.S.P.Sambandam mudaliyar and then from the funds generated, formed the Sengunther Educational Trust and first started the Salem Polytechnic in the year 1984, which was inaugurated by former chief minister Dr.M.G.Ramachandran. Then started ITI and then the Sengunthar matriculation and higher secondary school.

          In 2000 was instrumental in conducting kumbabishekam as the president of the thiruppani committee in palaniandavar temple in koonavelampattipudur and one of the close desciples of Sri Sri Sandhanand Swamigal of Kandhaashramam. Former.P.M.Chandrasekar recollected and called on to meet him in Erode in 2006 or so to meet him on this way to Yercaud and spent some valuable time with him.           While at Madras Law College came into contact with Anna, Thanthai Periyar, Madhiyalahan – as classmate – Nanjil Manoharan, Kannadhasan, EVK Sampath.From 1949 – K.Rajaram was his classmate and when he was in BL, he came and joined in first year law and he went to Malaysia, Singapore with EVR Periyar. After returning from Ceylon Educational tour in September, October 1954. EVR Periyar remembered and asked Thiru.Duraisami to file vakalat and appear for him in the case in Salem – Suyamariyathai agitation case. In Salem and in the high court also the case got succeeded. As a part of the social activities he was the secretary in the Golden Jubilee celebration of Salem district Sengunthar Association.
